Mark Kinser

Professional Highlights: After graduating from the University of Tennessee, began a 42-year career with General Shale where he accelerated through all levels of manufacturing management, eventually leading him into senior leadership roles, including Vice-President of Marketing and Corporate Development and Executive Vice President. He retired from General Shale on January 31, 2020. He serves on the board of several local organizations.  

Personal Interests: Married with two grown children and five grandchildren. Enjoys hiking, skiing, and playing golf. Also enjoys beekeeping as a hobby where every year is a new learning experience. 

International Travel Experience: Personal and professional travels abroad have encompassed 15 countries in Europe and also Cyprus and Israel - and a lot of time in Canada.

Noteworthy Travel Experiences within the U.S.: Have visited 42 of 50 states. Of all those stateside travels, am particularly fond of summiting Mt. Rainier in Washington State with our grown children, riding a mule to the depths of the Grand Canyon and back, hiking the Great Smoky Mountain National Park in four days and skiing every winter in the Rocky Mountains.
