WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Students with outstanding character, intellectual curiosity and leadership potential
Leaders who have made a positive impact on their community/school; who have the capacity, desire, and drive to make an even greater impact in the future; and who influence and inspire others to do the same
Self-starters committed to learning and growth through challenge; who are ‘comfortable with being a little uncomfortable’; and who have the grit and determination to overcome obstacles and succeed
TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE ROAN, A STUDENT MUST BE:
- A graduating high school senior who:
(1) lives in Tennessee or one of the surrounding states of Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia, and who completes a Roan application; OR
(2) is nominated by a high school in an eligible county (within Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, or Western North Carolina); OR
(3) has residency in one of the eligible states but attends high school outside the Roan footprint, and who completes a Roan application
- A competitive applicant to ETSU, on track to graduate from high school in the current academic year and to start at ETSU in the fall
- A U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
INTERESTED?
Interested high school seniors living in one of the states listed above may apply directly to the Roan each fall; those in eligible counties can also contact their school counselor about potentially being nominated by their high school.
