Nominating Schools

 

The maximum number of nominees from each eligible high school is determined by the size of the senior class.
Currently, those maximum numbers are: 

 

Up to 299 seniors = 1 nominee
300+ seniors = 2 nominees

WHO CAN NOMINATE STUDENTS FOR THE ROAN?

ALL high schools in the counties listed below are eligible to nominate students for the Roan. If your school has not nominated a student before, or if you have questions, please feel free to contact us for more information.

Northeast TN Counties: Carter, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Greene, Jefferson, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Sevier, Sullivan, Unicoi, Union, Washington

Southwest VA Counties: Grayson, Lee, Scott, Washington

Western NC Counties: Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Haywood, Madison, Mitchell, Watauga, Yancey

APPLYING DIRECTLY FOR THE ROAN

Any high school senior attending a school in one of the above counties who is not nominated may still apply directly for the Roan, provided they meet the eligibility criteria.

Additionally, beginning in fall 2023, any high school senior living anywhere in TN - or the surrounding states of GA, KY, NC, SC, and VA - may apply directly for the Roan.
