Dr. Jennifer Axsom Adler joined the Roan team in August 2015. As the Roan’s first Assistant Director, she oversees programming, leadership development, and enrichment opportunities for our current scholars. She also builds and strengthens connections among the growing Roan alumni family.
A first-generation college student originally from Bloomington, Indiana, Dr. Adler graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard College with her A.B. in Government. She went on to earn her M.A. and Ph.D. in Religion from Vanderbilt University, where she focused on American Religious History. Dr. Adler worked extensively with students at Vanderbilt, including teaching in the classroom, serving as a graduate writing consultant, leading workshops on academic skills, and working at Vanderbilt’s Programs for Talented Youth. In addition to responsibilities with the Roan, she is also an Adjunct Faculty member in ETSU’s Department of Philosophy and Humanities, where she teaches courses on religion.
Dr. Adler lives in Kingsport, Tennessee with her husband, Warren, and their son, Pierce (5).
